LF Export Utility

Export a Laserfiche repository to a folder, ready for migration to SharePoint Online.

Built for large repositories where the desktop client runs into path-too-long errors, access-denied folders, time-outs and counts that do not reconcile. It runs on a server inside your network, talks only to your Laserfiche API Server, and sends nothing anywhere else.

Download for Windows

Version 0.1.0 · 64-bit Windows 10, 11 or Server 2016 and later · 28.5 MB zip · no installer and no .NET to install.

What you need

A license file from Pi Consultants. The download does nothing without it. Licenses carry an expiry date and are issued per project.
A Windows server inside the network, with room on disk for the whole export, and HTTPS access to the Laserfiche API Server.
A Laserfiche account with Browse and Read on the folders to export and the Export feature right.

First start

From download to a running export in a few minutes.

1

Unzip into a folder on the server

The zip holds lfexport.exe, a sample configuration and the operator guide. Put your license file (lfexport.lic) in the same folder.

2

Double-click lfexport.exe

The dashboard opens in your browser. It is served by the program on that computer only; nothing is sent to the internet. Windows may show a SmartScreen notice the first time: choose More info, then Run anyway.

3

Fill in Settings and test the connection

Output folder, API Server address, repository name and the export account. The password is kept in memory for the session and never written to disk. Test connection signs in and exports one sample document.

4

Run everything

Inventory, export and reconcile, with a live progress bar, time remaining, per-folder progress and errors as they happen. Stop and resume at any time. Every run ends with a printable report and an import map for ShareGate.

How it avoids the usual export errors

Path too long. Files are saved under short entry-id names. The original Laserfiche path is kept in the manifest and the import map.
Access denied. Recorded per document or folder and the run continues. One click retries them after rights are granted.
Time-outs on large documents. Large documents switch to Laserfiche's background export automatically, with retries.
Interrupted runs. Progress is saved per document. Run again and it resumes where it stopped.
Shortcut duplicates. Shortcuts are listed with their target, not copied twice.
Counts that do not reconcile. Every inventoried document gets exactly one outcome, reported per top-level folder.
